Frequently Asked Questions
Tablo is a true enterprise solution indicated for use from the ICU to the home. Tablo can deliver IHD, SLED, isolated UF therapies, and sequential therapy which enables the user to seamlessly transition between HD to UF or UF to HD without needing a new cartridge or setup. The Extended Therapy (XT) feature enables enables up to 24 hours of continuous therapy at a minimum Qd of 50 mL/min.
For dialysis nurses and technicians, training on Tablo is very quick and easy relative to traditional dialysis machines. Nurses of any specialty can be trained on Tablo in under 4 hours.
For self-care, Outset will establish a detailed training program for both your nursing staff and patients. During the training, your patients and their care partner will learn how to operate the Tablo system, monitor their vital signs, administer medication, sterile technique and machine maintenance, and troubleshoot any emergency situations. In our clinical trial, patients were trained to perform all device-related aspects of self-care in less than 4 sessions.1

Our team has the expertise, commitment, and hands-on experience to make it easy for you to integrate Tablo into your program or fully make the switch.
After the initial consultation, where we meet with you to assess your existing capabilities and training goals, you’ll be given an individualized plan and support team. The team may include Field Service Engineers, Clinical Field Specialists, and STAR Team clinicians. Our STAR Team is made up of former dialysis nurses and nurse managers who are trained in Tablo program analysis and implementation.
Although Tablo is easy to learn and use, we are committed to working with you as an integral part of your team, and closely supporting the success of your new program. We’ll be on hand daily throughout training, regularly on an ongoing basis, as needed for any technical assistance, and as scheduled for quarterly performance evaluations. Our customer support team is available around the clock at 1-844-MY-TABLO.
Personalization of dialysis treatment up to 24 hours to meet the changing needs of a wide range of patients.
TabloHub and MyTablo are online portals where customers and patients can access the data generated by their Tablo systems including treatment flow sheets and training materials. On-demand access to data and information eliminates delays in aquiring reports and training material, improving efficiencies.
If you are unsure if your current clinic or treatment facility offers Tablo, please fill out our patient contact form. You can also contact your provider directly.
You’ll get to know Tablo with all the support you need from your clinical team. You’ll have guided training on Tablo by the home dialysis nurse at your clinic. In just a few days, you will be trained to dialyze at home with help from a family member or friend.
The Tablo machine’s all-in-one design, easy to learn and use touchscreen interface, and smart sensors allow it to:
- Save you space and time. Tablo quickly purifies water and produces dialysis on-demand, removing the need for premixed batches of dialysate or bags of purified water to run treatments.
- Allows you to personalize your dialysis schedule.
- Keep your same 3x per week dialysis schedule or dialyze more frequently
- Get set up quickly – it takes less than 20 minutes to set up and start treatment
- Alert you when something needs your attention, and allows you to resolve alarms quickly. For example, Tablo can sense when there is air in the tubing or when your blood pressure is not within your normal range – and help you resolve the issue. Most patients can resolve alarms in less than 5 seconds.
- Keep track of your treatment data for you and wirelessly transfer your treatment records to your healthcare provider.
You no longer need to lug your dialysis machine with you! A USB key contains all your treatment data so that you can make arrangements with a dialysis provider to receive in-center dialysis while you travel.
We appreciate your interest and are working to effectively balance the demand for Tablo at home with the broader demand for machines in hospitals related to COVID-19.
If you are interested in using Tablo in your home program, please fill out this contact form and someone on our team will get back to you as soon as possible.
We offer different purchase options based on your institution’s unique needs. Please submit a request for more information and a representative will be in touch with you to provide more details.
A new nurse can be trained in a matter of hours, not weeks. Sensors and advanced software help automate much of the setup, treatment management and maintenance. Step-by-step alarm resolution means no more flipping through manuals.
